Spring into Your New Smile!  At Ryan G. Bunton, DDS, LLC we have several different options to help you achieve your new smile.  Below are some great ways to refresh or change your smile.

In Office Whitening/Take Home Bleaching SystemThe in office whitening system we use is 20 minutes.  There is no sensitivity and is a quick way to get one to two shade whiter.  The take home system gets those deep in the enamel stains.  This system takes about two weeks to complete and depending on the strength is worn for 30 minutes up to 4 hours.

Veneers Veneers are a great way to update your smile.  If you have fillings in your teeth already or just don’t like the shape this could be a great option for you.  Veneers are a porcelain overlay on your front teeth.  Trauma to the tooth is minimal.  When you watch a movie or TV many of the stars have veneers.  Dr. Bunton would be happy to go over this procedure and whether you are a good candidate.

Orthodontics– Dr. Bunton is a provider for Invisalign.  If you qualify Dr. Bunton uses this option to straighten your teeth using clear aligners.  For more information please click on Invisalign to be redirected to their website.

Composite Resin Fills – Technology has come a long way.  Silver fillings are a thing of the past.  If you are tired of having a mouth full of silver fillings then composite resin fillings are a good option for a more aesthetically please smile.

Please call or email if you would like more information on any of these procedures.

Food Drive! My staff and I are putting on a food drive. If you bring in two non perishable items (can good, boxed foods, oil, sugar, and flour) or hygiene products (shampoo, deodorant, soap), then I will donate a toothbrush to Lamb Institute in Honduras. I have visited Honduras myself and the dental needs are great. The non perishable items will go to St. Paul Food Pantry here in Kansas City. Your name will also be placed in a drawing for a I Pad Mini. You do not have to be a patient to participate. No limit on how much you can donate.  Donations will need to be brought to the office by December 17, 3 pm. Spread the word. #bethankful #christchurch

The Importance of Regular #Dental Visits

Tooth Brush

We understand that day-to-day life can be very hectic. We want to make your regular dental visit a relaxing and positive experience.

Regular dental care is important. We can detect tooth decay early, which can save time, money and your teeth! Even if you brush and clean between your teeth each day, your teeth need professional cleanings at the dental office. Professional cleaning helps remove stains, plaque, and tartar from your teeth to keep your smile bright. It also helps prevent periodontal (gum) disease.

At your dental appointment we check the health of your teeth and gums to ensure that all is well. A careful exam of your mouth is important to detect signs of oral cancer, and other problems, at an early stage when they are easier to treat.

Taking care of your oral health is important throughout your life span. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, about 90% of adults in the U.S. over 20 years of age have, or have had, tooth decay. Nearly one-quarter have untreated tooth decay. Periodontal disease is also very common; almost half of adults over 30 years of age have periodontitis. Regular dental visits are also important for denture wearers to ensure a proper fit.

Please give us a call at 913-438-1828 to make your exam and cleaning appointment. We look forward to hearing from you!

Did you know that our office offers Invisalign braces? Not everyone is a candidate, but for those who are they are a great alternative to traditional braces.

Oû¤

Invisalign orthodontic treatment uses a series of clear aligners. Patients received new aligners as they progress through treatment. Treatment time can be comparable to traditional braces.

Advantages of Invisalign:

  • Clear, comfortable, virtually invisible aligners
  • No metal or wires to get in the way of your activities
  • Easy to remove to eat, brush, and floss

Invisalign is generally covered by orthodontic insurance and costs about the same as traditional braces. It is also generally eligible for Flexible Spending Account plans.

Call today to see if you are a candidate for Invisalign (913)438/1828

Sealants are an excellent defense against cavities. A sealant is a material that is applied to the teeth where decay occurs most often – the chewing surfaces of the back teeth. These teeth have pits and grooves that are hard to clean. The sealant bonds to the teeth and acts as a barrier to keep bacteria and food out of the pits and grooves of a tooth.

Sealants are quick and easy to apply, taking only minutes per tooth. Applying sealants can save both time and money. Your child may avoid the need to have a tooth repaired by having sealants applied. Sealants can last several years before needing to be reapplied.

Contact our office to learn more about how sealants can help protect your child / children from tooth decay.

As always we appreciate the confidence our patients place in us to provide their dental care. One of the best compliments we receive is the referral of family and friends.

Dental Insurance Benefit Plans

Many of our patients use dental benefit plans, so we would like to explain why your insurance may not cover the entire cost of your dental procedure, or why it covers some dental procedures and not others.

Most dental benefit plans are the result of a contract between an insurance company and your employer, union or association. The person who negotiates the terms of your insurance plan makes the final decision on maximum levels of reimbursement through a contract with the insurance company.

Other plans may want you to choose your dental care from a list of their preferred providers. Choosing your dental care provider from this defined group can affect your levels of reimbursement. Your plan may also tell you that they will only pay benefits for the least expensive alternative treatment for a condition, or deny coverage for conditions that existed before you enrolled in the plan.

A deductible is the amount of dental expense you are responsible for before your plan will assume any liability for payment of benefits and could increase your out-of-pocket expenses. In addition, many plans do not provide coverage for all dental procedures. This does not mean that these procedures are not necessary – it just means that your employer has purchased a plan that does not cover the cost of providing coverage for these services.

If you have questions about your dental benefit plan, we recommend you contact your insurance provider or your human resources department at work.
